The Shri Ram School (ICSE and IBDP)

Arhan’s educational journey began at The Shri Ram School, a leading institution in India, renowned for its rigorous academic curriculum and emphasis on holistic development. Pomona College (Bachelor of Arts in Politics, Minor in Asian Studies)

Arhan’s academic journey continued at Pomona College, a top-tier liberal arts college in Claremont, California. Here, Arhan earned his Bachelor of Arts in Politics, specializing in Comparative Politics. Pomona’s challenging curriculum provided him with a global perspective on governance, political systems, and democracy. The comparative politics focus enabled Arhan to explore and analyze the different political structures, legal frameworks, and democratic processes worldwide. This academic foundation was crucial in shaping his approach to policy-making, particularly as it relates to fostering equality and justice in complex political landscapes like Jammu & Kashmir.

In addition to his major, Arhan pursued a Minor in Asian Studies, with a concentration on India. This interdisciplinary field allowed him to deepen his understanding of South Asian history, culture, and political dynamics, further connecting him to his roots. Through a combination of courses on Asian politics, history, and economic development, Arhan critically examined the challenges and opportunities faced by India and other countries in the region. His academic work often focused on issues of national security, ethnic conflict, and social policy, areas that have continued to define his advocacy and leadership roles.

Pomona College offered a rich environment for intellectual growth, encouraging Arhan to actively participate in debates, collaborative projects, and research opportunities. It was also at Pomona that Arhan first began translating his academic insights into action.

University of Cambridge (Study Abroad in Law, Politics, Creative Writing, and Art)

In 2020, Arhan expanded his academic repertoire by studying abroad at Jesus College, University of Cambridge. During this prestigious six-month program, Arhan delved into diverse fields, focusing on Law (Introduction and Criminal Law), Political Theory, Creative Writing (English), and Modern Art. This experience at Cambridge provided Arhan with a multifaceted perspective on how law, politics, and culture intersect to shape societies.

His studies in law and political theory allowed him to gain a deeper understanding of legal systems and governance structures, complementing his earlier work in comparative politics. Arhan’s engagement with creative writing and modern art added an important dimension to his analytical skills, enabling him to explore political and social issues through a cultural lens. This interdisciplinary approach enriched his ability to think critically about the role of policy in addressing both social injustices and cultural preservation.

Cambridge also provided Arhan with the opportunity to interact with some of the brightest minds in the world, further sharpening his intellectual capabilities. His experiences here solidified his passion for governance and justice, reinforcing his commitment to effecting change in Jammu & Kashmir and advocating for the rights of marginalized communities worldwide.

Harvard University (Master in Public Policy, Ongoing)

Arhan’s pursuit of academic excellence and social change continues at Harvard University, where he is currently enrolled in the Master in Public Policy (MPP) program at the prestigious Harvard Kennedy School. This degree focuses on enhancing his understanding of governance, leadership, and policy implementation at the highest levels. His time at Harvard is deeply connecated to his mission of fostering political and social progress, particularly in his native region of Jammu & Kashmir.

The MPP program provides Arhan with advanced tools to analyze complex social and economic issues, craft effective public policies, and lead transformative change. His studies at Harvard are focused on areas critical to his ongoing work, including governance reform, international development, and human rights. Harvard’s dynamic and diverse academic community offers Arhan unparalleled opportunities to collaborate with global leaders, policy-makers, and social innovators, further enhancing his ability to implement sustainable solutions for both local and international challenges.

Harvard represents not just another step in Arhan’s academic journey, but a strategic investment in his future role as a policy-maker and advocate for social justice. His work at Harvard is directly aligned with his commitment to reviving Jammu & Kashmir through KYARI (Kashmir’s Yumberzal Applied Research Institute) and promoting inclusive policies for the differently-abled through his initiatives with the Paralympic Committee of India.
